Building a color scheme for furnishing this room began when the clients fell in love with the red sofa and chair combination. Designer Tamara Scott-Anderson helped her clients and friends, Jan & Judith select an area rug that worked to soften the beautiful ocher  colored concrete floors and the room developed from there.  The other new  furnishings included decorative metal and glass occasional tables, a carved wooden book shelf, a sculptural chair made of recycled wood, and a hand  chiseled mantle over the fire place. These furnishings added a visual textural element to the room. Then accent walls were painted gold and red to pull the color scheme though out the adjoining kitchen and dining area. The addition of solar tubes to the living area allows for more day light and a brightened environment.

We just received two of the most beautiful dining room sets that Contents Interiors has ever had. We are proud to represent the same family of mesquite woodworkers for over 20 years and this latest set is stunning. The Sombra table is 42×60 with 2-12” leaves, cabriolet legs and fluted moldings on the apron. The fluted moldings are repeated on the chairs apron while using the beauty of the mesquite wood for the back.

Milpa Wood is used on the Moderno Table that is handcrafted in Mexico. These magnificent Milpa trees are recovered from select areas of Mexico. The trees tend to grow near corn crops and do not allow the local farmers to farm their crops; as a result, they bury them. Some of the trees continue to grow underground and after many years, some feature burled areas-natural tumors near or on the roots of the trees. Highly sought after and incredibly exclusive, Milpa Burl is the utmost in luxury. The matching buffet features Milpa Burl, Ebony and Chechen (also known as Caribbean Rosewood).

IIf you are looking for a more rustic look, this buffet will give you lots of storage and the look you desire. Crafted from old doors with iron hardware, this cabinet measures 82” long.

Michael Osburn retired as an architect and started Woodshed Production to design and handcraft interesting and unique home furnishings and home décor. Contents Interiors is proud to carry this line of tables crafted from salvaged Mountain Pine Beetle killed Montana Ponderosa Pine. Michael travels from his home in Washington State to the Oro Fino Gulch area, south of Helena Montana, to gather this special wood for his creations. He skillfully leaves the live edge to showcase the imperfections and natural features of the wood. The tops are treated with 1 coat of MinWax Tung Oil (to pop the grain) and 3 coats of MinWax Polyurethane to create this beautiful water resistant finish.

Fabric and Leather combination are still popular for the comfortable Southwestern and the Tucson Traditional look. The color trend is moving away from the dark browns into a more neutral palate.

Mineral is a new leather color that I saw at this market was at Lee Industries. It will be paired beautifully with a taupe woven fabric sofa and wait until you see the pillows with a fabulous glazed sea foam flange.
